No for most needs. Workflow rules, custom buttons and scheduled actions are configured in the interface. Custom functions in Deluge and custom extensions, covered in lessons 13.2 and 13.5, are for logic the rules cannot express.
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call Zoho Books as a tool, reading records and, with permission, creating transactions. Lesson 13.4 is Zoho's 2026 session on it. Treat write access the way you would treat a new staff member: scoped, approved and reviewed.
Yes, within limits. A rule can block a transaction whose field values fail validation, route it for approval, or alert someone. It cannot replace the approval workflow in Module 12 for payments, and it runs only on the events Zoho Books exposes. Lesson 13.2 sets out what is and is not possible.
